SPSA President’s Day Holiday Schedule

Chesapeake, VA – February 13, 2008) – For the Monday, February 18, 2008 President’s Day holiday, all of SPSA’s administrative offices will be closed.

Also, the following operating facilities will be closed for the holiday: Suffolk Transfer Station, 1 Bob Foeller Drive; Oceana Transfer Station, 2025 Virginia Beach Boulevard; Yard Waste Mulching Facility, 1991 Jake Sears Road, Virginia Beach.

The following operating facilities will be open one-half day for the holiday:

Chesapeake Transfer Station
Franklin Transfer Station
Norfolk Transfer Station
Landstown Transfer Station
Isle of Wight Transfer Station
Regional Landfill

The Refuse Derived Fuel Plant in Portsmouth will observe a regular work day; the adjacent Power Plant facility, 3809 Elm Avenue, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Finally, the only curbside recycling routes affected by the holiday are those within the City of Chesapeake. The curbside recycling routes scheduled for collection on the 18th will be serviced on Wednesday, February 20.Other communities’ routes are not affected by the holiday.

SPSA will resume normal operations on Tuesday, February 19.
