SUFFOLK
Albert Moor was appointed City Manager on May 19, 2021 after having served as Interim City Manager effective October 3, 2020. He was previously named the Interim Deputy City Manager effective July 1, 2020, following the retirement of Scott Mills, who had served the City of Suffolk for thirty-three years prior to his retirement. Mr. Moor was the Director of Public Utilities prior to becoming Interim City Manager, and had served in that capacity since 1995. He was over thirty-six years of progressive municipal government experience under his belt. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Technology from Old Dominion University. He completed the Senior Executive Institute: UVA Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, the LEAD Program: UVA Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, and AWWA Water Utility Institute sponsored by Virginia Tech.
