Sheryl Raulston worked at Union Camp/International Paper for 33 years. Her most recent position was Environmental, Health and Safety Manager for International Paper’s Franklin, Virginia paper mill. Sheryl was responsible for operations of the effluent treatment system, and landfill/waste hauling systems. She was responsible for environmental compliance/permitting in air, water, solid waste, hazardous waste, effluent discharges. She was also responsible for Health/Safety compliance including management of Medical Department, Emergency Response and Fire Protection Systems. Sheryl worked as EHS lead person through closure of the paper mill, stayed on as part of the repurposing team and was part of the startup team for the Fluff Pulp Mill.

Sheryl graduated from University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with a BS Degree in Paper Science and Engineering in 1980. Sheryl has served on numerous committees and Boards during her career in the paper industry. She was Vice -Chairman of the Virginia Manufacturer’s Association Environmental Affairs Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Virginia Paper Council, and member (and Chairman) of the Virginia’s State Air Advisory Board to the State Air Pollution Control Board. She currently serves as President of the Western Tidewater Tennis Association – a USTA non-profit Community Tennis Association that develops and manages tennis in Western Tidewater. Sheryl also serves as the Varsity Girl’s Head Tennis Coach for Nansemond Suffolk Academy.
